Meet our Trustees
The Charity’s Board of Trustees consists of six (6) members, two each from Brent Council, Metropolitan Housing Association and Chalkhill residents. The Board is currently seeking to recruit one member from a local business, educational or health organisation.
Vivienne joined CCTF as a Resident Trustee in 2014 and became Chair in 2015. She is a Senior Solicitor at The Royal British Legion, specialising in charity law, all aspects of corporate governance, company/commercial and commercial property law. She is a member of the ICSA: The Governance Institute and the Law Society of England and Wales and a mentor on the Law Society’s Diversity Access Mentoring Scheme. With over 20 years professional experience Vivienne brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to the Board.
Manjula joined the Trust Fund as a Resident Trustee in 2014. Manjula has been an active volunteer for over 5years working towards building a stronger local community by running group sessions to inspire and motivate, delivering healthy cooking workshops, DIY Happiness workshops, healthy lunch boxes workshops at the local school, to name but a few. She also runs a monthly support group for people with diabetes. With Over 20 years experience in Quality Assurance in the Pharmaceutical industry, she has transferred and tailored this knowledge and experience, to deliver as ‘Quality Assurance for Life’ projects. Manjula has a drive and passion to help improve the quality of the environment and the well-being of the residents in the community. Being a CCTF Trustee allows her to actively play a part in funding projects that will benefit the community.
Sheila is one of two Metropolitan nominated Trustees. Sheila has worked for Metropolitan since 1990 during which time she has carried out a variety of roles including allocating properties, working as a resident liaison officer assisting residents having major works carried out on their homes, project managing the reinstatement of the block of flats at Barnes Wallis Court that was struck by lightning in 2009 and more recently working on regeneration estates including West Hendon and Clapham Park. Sheila has been a Trustee of the Chalkhill Community Trust Fund since 2011 and the Chairperson between February 2012 and November 2014. Sheila became Treasurer in September 2015.
Councillor Michael Pavey
Councillor Michael Pavey represents Chalkhill on Brent Council. He joined the Trust Fund shortly after winning an historic by-election in 2012. Prior to this he worked as a regeneration project manager for ten years and before that he studied Economic History at the London School of Economics. Councillor Pavey’s greatest political passion is supporting families with young children. He is Director of Labour Friends of Sure Start and Vice Chair of Governors at Wembley Primary School. Councillor Pavey has lived in Brent for 12 years but is very proud of his Lincolnshire roots.
Juliana joined the Trust Fund in 2015 as a Metropolitan nominated Trustee. Juliana brings over 12 years of experience working in the voluntary sector, both at operational and trustee roles. She currently works for Metropolitan Housing Trust as programme officer for the Migration Foundation, a charitable foundation addressing the issues of migration in the UK. Juliana previously worked for the Association of Charitable Foundations, the UK’s umbrella body for foundations and grant-making charities. She has also been a trustee of the Latin American Women’s Rights Services (LAWRS) for 6 years, and is particularly interested in issues related to migration and how women, in particular, are affected by it. Her early career in the voluntary sector included managing a mentoring programme for refugees living in London.
Councillor Shafique Choudhary
Councillor Shafique Choudhary is the Chair of Brent Council’s Pension Fund Sub-Committee and is Vice Chair of Brent CONNECT and represents Chalkhill on Brent Council. He joined the Trust Fund in 2014.
